ABOUT US

In April of year 2001, under the Department of Psychology of the University of Philosophy in Novi Sad, a student organization, named Psychology Students Club "TraNSfer", begun operating.
The idea came from a few ambitious 4th year students, at the end of 1st semester of the school year 2000/2001. Soon after the idea was spread among all undergraduate students.
The official founding meeting of the club was held at the beginning of April of the year 2001. In the course of it the Club Statute was adopted and the members who are to carry the duty or the Main Board were elected. Following PSC TraNSfer members were elected on fifth regular elections (March 2005):

Technical formalities were finalized by May 21, 2001 when we acquired the official registration certificate, valid on the federal level.

These are some of the goals of PSC "TraNSfer":
1. The advancement in quality of departments efficiency, which involves required as well as elective activities.
2. Connecting, cooperation and exchange of experiences with the other organization of similar orientation, as well as the enhancement of activities involving student exchange programs and participation to scientific seminars (congresses, meetings, etc.).
3. Improvement of life standard in local community by student's direst involvement in stating, discussing and resolving intra- and interpersonal problems related.
4. Striving for better status of psychologist and psychology students in society and better placement of psychology as a science.

We emphasize that we aspire to serious and quality work, but to have to point out the fact that, from the very beginning we are faced with difficulties such as lack of facilities and funds (all previously mentioned activities were realized with practically no funds).
We would like to use the opportunity to invite everyone interested in cooperating to join us.

CURRENT PROJECTS

For a child’s smile

The main goal of this project is providing psycho-social support for children who are hospitalized. Many researches have shown that long term hospitalization may cause some disorders in behavior and emotional reacting in period of adolescence. Therefore, we gathered team of volunteers whose duty is to spend some quality time with children, once a week. Our group has thirty volunteers, they work in shifts. They were educated in order to gain necessary skills for working with hospitalized children. Volunteers learned how to lead a workshop, work individually, how to communicate with hospitalized children. They also gain some basic knowledge from volunteer management. This project will last for six months. It has been supported by Secretariat for Health and Social Welfare and EHO (Ecumenical humanitarian organization).
